Nowhere Corp — Frequently Unasked Questions
Clock Out FAQ
- Is the presence counter real?
- Yes. The number of people shown is real or hidden — never invented. It comes from live connections to the room. When it says three others are on break, that's three real strangers. When you're alone it tells you so instead of faking a crowd.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There's no signup, no login, no profile. You tap Clock Out and you're in the break room.
- Is Clock Out free?
- Yes, completely free. There's nothing to buy and no ads.
- Who's in the room with me?
- Real, anonymous strangers who clocked out around the same time. Breaks cluster on synchronized waves so people arrive together, not one at a time.
- Are my messages stored?
- Messages are anonymous, capped at 60 characters, and fade from the wall on their own. There are no usernames, threads, replies, or likes.
- Is this a productivity or Pomodoro timer?
- No. Clock Out is a deadpan anti-work joke, not a focus tool. The point is low engagement: three minutes of doing nothing, then you leave.
- What is the Receipt of Nothing?
- A shareable corporate-style receipt you get when your break ends — 0 tasks completed, minutes of nothing reclaimed, no managers notified. It's the thing people share.
